Investment in new energy saving and environmentally friendly technologies lies at the heart of UC RUSAL's business strategy. As the world's leading aluminium producer our activities are focussed on the development and growth of the company as a global metals corporation.
Research and development is pivotal to our growth as is investment in new technologies. We focus on increasing production through an ongoing programme of modernising existing plants and construction of new plants to the highest HSE standards
Protection of the environment is a top priority and since 2000 UC Rusal has invested more than $1BN in projects and strategies to achieve this goal.

As the world's largest producer of aluminium and alumina our activities span the whole production cycle - from bauxite extraction to the production of primary aluminium and sophisticated alloys.
Operating in 19 countries and across 5 continents we are responsible for 12% of global output of primary aluminium and 15% of alumina.
UC RUSAL employs over 90,000 people across its international operations. The company's products are sold in 70 countries with the automotive, construction and packaging industries being the key consumers.
