Strikeforce Mining and Resources (SMR) is the largest molybdenum concentrate and ferromolybdenum producer in Russia.
SMR is vertically-integrated company. it's principal operations comprise molybdenum mining and processing and ferromolybdenum production through a vertically integrated process of ore mining, ore processing to produce molybdenum and copper concentrates, molybdenum concentrate roasting for ferromolybdenum production through smelting. In 2009 SMR was responsible for more than 5% of global ferromolybdenum output.
The other products produced by SMR are molybdenum and copper concentrates.
SMR's key assets include two mining and processing facilities as well as two ferromolybdenum plants located in Eastern Siberia. In addition to principal mining and production assets, SMR makes exploration at the Chinea deposit in Eastern Siberia, which contains titanomagnetite-vanadium ores and copper sulphide ores and precious metals such as gold, silver, platinum and palladium.
SMR strategy is to increase the existing ferromolybdenum production capacity, improve the efficiency of operations and grow in reserve and resources through further exploration activities and competence development.
